First I want to start out with my goals for the summer.
1. Drop my weight down to the 240s.
I've been in the 270s since I got laid off from factory work in December of last year. My goal this summer is 30 pounds so that would put me in the 240s!
2. Log at least 10 running/ walking miles per week.
I started the c25k program last year but with my work schedule it sort of got pushed aside. I enjoy walking and running so want to see myself getting out more to do that. Working early mornings at this new job it gets me out of bed and moving to be starting at 5 and then I usually get done around 9am so that leaves plenty of time to enjoy the rest of my day and get in some exercise! (The only down side of working less is the paycheck, but hey if I can have the time to get healthy, I'm going to take the chance!)
3. Spend at least 15 minutes outside three times per week.
This should be easy but I have a tendency to not get outside much so want to remember to get some sun and fresh air. Lately with the heat it has been hard to be out much during the day since I want to avoid a sunburn and getting overheated but I do get out to water the container garden and sunflowers!
4. Organize my bedroom.
I feel really unorganized so want to get rid of clutter and have a space that is more enjoyable. There are many other spaces to fix the clutter as well, but the bedroom is probably the most important for now. This is something that I still need to do from last summer, although times have changed a bit now. I decided to move in with my in-laws because it seems to have a better opportunity than the small town where my parents lived for jobs and entertainment. While my bedroom is perfect at my in-laws (my hubby gets on me for that which is totally okay by me because clean and organized=less stressful), it's not so great at my parents house. Part of it though is that we have wedding gifts and things stored in my room there that we aren't currently going to use since we don't have a place of our own yet. The rest is just me needing to take the time and major effort to sort through papers and clothes to get rid of things I don't need anymore. Its a project that I actually am planning to do later in the summer when I can spend a week at my parents with my hubby and sort through everything and hopefully set up my room as a guest bedroom so that when we visit it is a place to enjoy and even thinking about getting out some of the little kiddo stuff so when we do eventually find out about having a baby it will be perfect.
I've been working hard on finishing things that I start. Now that the wedding is over with, I have been working on getting all the lose ends tied up with that which is going well. I am very proud that I got out most of the thank you cards in a timely manner, only reason I say most is because I found a couple that I started but never finished to mail- oops! Only other thank yous left are from a second reception we had on June 9th which we just picked up the photo version yesterday so tomorrow and Wednesday those are getting done. Anyway, back to finishing...scrapbooking is a major area that I need to work on getting things done- all the way from my baby books to most recently my wedding book. Also have a few sewing projects that I have been meaning to try just for fun. Then there is cross stitch and some paint by numbers that have been calling my name as well. Oh and of course things I should do to keep myself healthy from proper grocery shopping to following through with eating healthy and exercise.
My plan to reward myself for finishing the summer strong is a new workout outfit with shoes. Or even just treat myself to a brand new pair of jeans instead of a second hand pair would be a real treat!
