Happy Father's Day!! (Day 27)

Happy Father's Day to all of you wonderful SparkDaddies out there!!

I really wish I could see mine today, but hopefully will be able to Skype with him later tonight. As for the other Dads in my life - we will meet up with my brother this afternoon, and Brad already chatted on the phone with his this morning.

I got up nice and early this morning, with the intent of getting to the gym when it opened at 8AM. I am *finally* getting back into a Burn phase - I was getting so bored of the Build phase! This is especially great because with my recent low energy days, as long as I get my 3 strength circuits in a week, they count both as cardio and strength! Bonus!

I needed to be at the gym as close to 0800 as possible because a fitness class starts at 0915 - and I use the Group Ex room for the space and equipment to set up my circuit. I got up, had a great healthy breakfast, and made it to the gym to start my workout at 0810. Booyeah!

After a 5 minute elliptical warm-up, I hit the (taped on the carpet, thanks to my old trainer!) agility ladder for 11 minutes of drills (90sec on, 90sec off). Then set up my circuit. I love my HIIT circuits. emoticon

If someone said I could only have one style of exercise for the rest of my life- that would be it!!

I get home, and Brad is still in bed. He worked 80 hours this week, so he needed the sleep-in. He was actually chatting with his Dad on the phone while still resting. So I went upstairs to the kitchen and got busy! Of course, I had my post-workout snack first.

Then I cooked him breakfast. Kind of a pre-Father's Day (since we are trying) /you've had a long week reward. So Grace was in the kitchen!

And I managed not to burn anything down *OR* give him food poisoning!

Smoothie: OJ, banana, peach, raspberries, greek vanilla yogurt
2 eggs
some cheese
toast with margarine
cereal with milk
flavored coffee with milk and sugar.

I have never cooked fried eggs in my life haha. I eat scrambled if I make them! Brad likes fried so I had to try! They turned out okay, apparently! I actually managed to time everything so the eggs and coffee were still hot, cereal not mushy, and smoothie not separated. Go me!

It was *so* weird cooking/prepping food without measuring and weighing everything. A little freedom, but nervewracking at the same time!

He was very happy to get breakfast in bed. I just went and cleaned up my mess in the kitchen while he takes a nice long shower (20 mins is considered an express shower for him!) and then we are going to go find somewhere pretty to take a nice long, slow walk. I want the time outside, and his muscles need a slow stretch out.

Have a beautiful Father's Day! Celebrate someone in your life who is an awesome Dad, or will hopefully have the potential soon to be one!

Way to go. breakfast looked good. I myself like soft eggs. Soft boiled or sunny side up. Not really big on scrambled unless they are mixed with something else like in a breakfast burrito.

Congrats on getting to they gym on time as well. Sounds like you had a great day, your energy seems to be on the rise. You are obviously feeling better so that's great..Hope you had a great walk.

Very nice job on the breakfast!
I had to chuckle when you mentioned about it being very weird not measuring his food. It is!
Have a great walk and I hope that you are able to speak with your dad later this evening.

What a good wife you are! And such a well-rounded, nutritious breakfast! Your walk outside is a good idea -- maybe we'll do the same! Gotta enjoy the weather before it gets too hot!

Awesome! Eggs can be tricky in my book too. I like mine scrambled and dry! So moist eggs freak me out. I usually just stick to hard boiled and scrambled, but I am going to have to change it up. I try omelets, and though good and edible, the "moistness" just freaked me out!

    Have a great Father's Day!
