Life Story in a Minute or Less

Saturday, June 16, 2012

Grew up in 90s stirrup pants, always a chubby kid. Private elementary school, was shy and self-conscious, wore over-sized version of the uniform. Sat around and read all the time, rarely went outside.

High school marching band encouraged me to be more outgoing and to lose some weight. However, I was an idiot teenager and figured the best way to do that was to stop eating all together. I lost a lot of weight summer/fall of my junior year and felt amazing for the first time in my life. I was 130 pounds, still not super thin, but not fat. Of course, since I lost the weight so quickly, as soon as I started eating again, I gained it all back and then some.

College was really fun. I loved my classes and friends, but I never lost any weight. I didn't gain much (maybe 5 pounds total). I just graduated a few weeks ago, around my high weight of 170 pounds.

Now I have a great internship, and I'm looking for a full time job for this fall. One of my best friends is getting married, and I get to be a bridesmaid! I've moved to New York, at least for the summer. Overall, it's an exciting time of my life.

I've decided to change myself into a healthier version of me, and I'll do it the right way this time. I want to lose around 50 pounds before my next birthday, and preferably before New Years. Wish me luck on my journey, and I hope we can all reach our goals together with the Spark!
