Chinups Gone Wild

Friday, June 15, 2012

For the last couple of weeks, I've been on a chinups tear! I got these very nifty resistance bands a few months ago from (the 1/2" and 1" versions).
And I have to say, they've done a fantastic job in helping me with my chinups/pullups goal for 2012. I've been working on them at the end of my strength workouts. Sometimes, I do a few reps before I run, too.

I want to be able to perform 5 consecutive chins this year, as well as 2 consecutive pullups. I'm currently stuck on 2 consecutive chinups. While it's frustrating, I also realize they're damn hard. emoticon So I know I just have to steer the course, and keep on truckin'.

Sounds like you're making progress! This is one of my goals as well. So far I've just been doing pull ups with a towel hanging over a rafter as I'm slightly afraid my door frame is going to rip off with my pull up bar. Although I have been doing husband assisted pullups on it. The bands look like a really good idea, thanks for the link!
