Brown rice

I am trying to switch over from white rice to brown rice. It has been a while since I tried brown rice. When I did try it I hated it! It was hard very bland taste didn't like it at all. Does anybody have any suggestions on what kind of brown rice is good & tasty? Also how you cook your rice & any secrets to making it taste better. Thanks for all the suggestions! emoticon

    Hello! I cook brown rice in the microwave. It takes about 40 minutes on high...
    I eat it with tofu stir-fry and it gives the food a nutty flavour which is yummy. I haven't tried eating it with anything else.

    I've grown to love brown rice. I use a rice cooker when i make it - only because it does take longer to cook and I like the fact that my rice cooker will keep the rice warm all day - so it's ready when I get home. They are not very expensive.
    - Brown Basmatti rice has incredible smell and flavour - my fave.
    - Medium grain brown rice I find has a softer texture -- because it's fatter Calarouse rice I think.
    Also -- Try soaking the rice before you cook it... at least an hour, but over night works too. This makes the rice softer.
    Again my rice cooker is programmable, so it gets a good long soak before it cooks right in the machine.
