Hope in the pain

I'm so grateful to God to have a body that moves, that works, that fights.

This morning an old family friend of my older brother, watched his wife pass away from cancer. She fought hard for 7 years but it finally won. I didn't know Christine all that well. But we had numerous mutual friends and tonight my heart breaks for them and for her husband and children as they try to cope.

I lost my mom three years ago to cancer. She and Christine used to share chemo dates as they were fighting cancer together. Two incredible women of faith and strength have been called home to God.

I've been really focusing on worship music today for some peace and strength. I found a recent song by Michael W. Smith called Welcome Home. This is the chorus;

"I can hear the sound
As angels gather 'round
Saying this is where you belong
Welcome Home!"

Welcome Home Christine. I know my mom was there to greet her and someday I know I'll see them both again. If you believe in the power of prayer, please keep Mark, Emily and Troy in your prayers. I lost my mom when I was 30, I couldn't imagine losing her in my teens.

    I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend's wife. I am praying that God will wrap His loving arms around them and carry them through this difficult time. Praying for you as well as I'm sure this brings back memories of losing your mother. God is there with you! His love and comfort will surround each of you like a warm blanket!

    Sorry to hear about your friends loss. I lost my mom to cancer too, when I was in my 20's. It's so hard, as you know...but can't imagine what it's like for younger kids to lose their mom. :(
    May you & this family feel God's loving arms around you during this time.
