Excited! YES! Finally...!

Tuesday, June 12, 2012

So I met with a personal trainer this past Sunday. He really got me excited about going to the gym. So much so, that I spent all day yesterday wanting to go back. It actually took a lot of effort to not go.

The gym I joined has crazy new equipment that intimidates me. So he took me through the machines he wants me to use and showed me exactly how to use them and how many reps he expects from me ( only 1 set of 12 - easy) for the next two weeks. Due to schedule conflicts, we wont meet again until the end of June, but I know I can do what he's asked of me. I mean, I'm itching to go back, so he's planted a seed of confidence that I've not been able to find on my own.

Apparently I have bad posture and week shoulders. He's promised to help fix me up and give me back the inch I've lost in my height over the past couple of years. He says I'm too young to start shrinking and toning my core and shoulder muscles will get me back to 5'6". Not that there's a problem with 5'5", I'm just not ready to start compressing if I don't have to.

So anyway, I can ramble on and on about my trainer, but I think I've touched on the important parts. I don't know that I've ever been excited about exercise of any kind, let alone strength training. This is a very good thing.

I love your enthusiasm. I spent several hours in my gym at home yesterday doing strength core exercises. I felt great after and am not very sore today.
