I Made IT:) Update from the 5K
Monday, June 11, 2012
Well, Saturday morning came and the 5K went as good as I would have expected. I finished a little over 37 minutes. The morning was in the 70's, with wind and humidity. I have to say, I didn't sweat as much as I do inside, but some of that could have been the wind drying as I ran. I was blessed to have a good friend, who is 7 months pregnant, pace me. She was a wonderful cheerleader for me. Her and her husband ran with me until my first walk segment. I went to 8 minutes on my first run and that included going over the viadock. We then did run to walk segments a bit closer together and I walked up most of the hills.
Overall I felt good, though and I want to thank Donna for her work with me because I couldn't have done it without her and I want to thank Vickie for being my partner for the race!!
We had our town celebration then on Saturday night and I had a few beers, but hopefully not too many to make my weight go the other direction again.
