Getting in the exercise!

Monday, June 11, 2012

So I just got a 250 fitness minutes award yesterday. I must confess I have only done one day of exercising this month so far lol. Yesterday I went to toronto with some friends. We walked up and down yonge street shopping.

I know most everyone is from the US on here, so you may not be familiar. anyway we shopped for about 5 hours so I logged 5 hours of walking, at a slow pace to make up for some of the time we spent in stores and not walking. it was the easiest way for me to approximate what we actually did as I have no idea how much time was spent walking. the majority of the time anyway lol.

so I tracked 300 minutes in one day ^_^ I feel pretty good about it. now I just need to keep at it and not stop exercising lol.

My mom is thinking about paying for a personal trainer for me. only twice a week and he's a friend of my sister's who also trains with him. he's going to give me a discounted rate. I'll need to go to the gym once a week as well but that's ok, even if I don't go to the gym, the 2x a week every week will be an improvement on what I do now which is pretty sporadic.

I did end the day yesterday with a pretty wicked blister on my foot, and I'm limping somewhat from it today lol. I need some new sandals lol, good ones ^_^ mine are somewhat cheap and a bit old. I also got some sun but overall the benefit greatly outweighs the downsides I'm experiencing today ^_^

I'm pretty sure no pair of sandals is designed to allow you to walk around for 5+ hours blister free! Even in my expensive, fancy running shoes I'm sure my feet would be in some discomfort after THAT much walking!

The personal trainer thing sounds cool. I always wondered how much of a difference it might make for me if I invested the money in a trainer. I think you should definitely take advantage of the opportunity. Even if you don't stick with him forever, I'm sure you will learn a lot.
