Getting Back on Track

Sunday, June 10, 2012

I was on hiatus for a while, since about the middle of April until last week. I had recently gotten back in touch with a friend of 12 years. He's been a very good friend and was going to be leaving town June 4th, so I was trying to spend as much time as I could with him before he went away. To make a long story short, I pretty much blew off working or working out, especially after he had to leave the terrible living situation he was living in & I let him stay with me. Anyway, that's why I've been off SparkPeople until now. I'm working back up to the level I was in April, starting with 10 minutes of cardio every day. I'm doing step aerobics most days, mixing it up with 10 minute cardio kickboxing & 11 minute chair cardio videos. I intend to add evening walks, after the temperature has cooled, after about a week of "getting back in the grove." I'm also doing strength training of each major muscle group two days a week. I still love strength training, but I am kind sore after today from being off for over a month!
Additionally, my aunt started selling IsaGenix products two years ago and has been trying to get me started on it. I've had various reasons for not, mostly financial and nutritional concerns. However, she gave me some shakes & stuff she had laying around to get me started. Afterwards, she will be giving me a discount if I purchase any more. I've started the 9 day cleanse today, so wish me luck! emoticon
Seriously, though, I know I can do it as long as I remain determined. Also, I really, really need to get a job so I can afford all this. I am trying to become a Veterinary Assistant, having recently discovered my continuing love of animals. I have an interview for a part-time Vet. Assistant/Receptionist on Tuesday. I've got my fingers crossed! There's no formal education required, but I'm not sure how hard it will be to get hired. In the meantime, I'm going to keep applying for everything I qualify for, so I can start getting out of debt. I'll volunteer at the animal shelter to get more experience with animals concurrently. Well, that's my plans so far and an update on the rest. Keep Sparking!
