So I have been swimming now for about 5 weeks. Making great progress! Started out knowing only how to side stroke, tred and doggie paddle. Now I do lap after lap of freestyle and breasstroke! AND it's fun! After not being able to push myself and exercise for so long, I really thought that part of my life was over. But yesterday my back flared up. Was in ER for 6 hours last night crying with back spasms. Now in bed doped up on norflex, but at least I am not in pain. So no swimming until this settles down. ANd I stopped smoking, cause evidently the nicotine constricts your blood vessels and can cause back spasms in people like me with cranky backs! Looking forward to getting back to the pool ASAP!
