Visit to a Victorian Tea House
Sunday, June 10, 2012
My mom turned 84 on May 30 and as part of her birthday we took her to the Victorian Tea House in nearby Spring Grove, PA. Those of us that went were my sister, my nephew's girlfriend, my mom, myself and a friend of my sisters. This was the second visit for my sis and her friend and the first time for the rest of us. Our reservation was for noon and we got there alittle early to look around.
The house is decorated all Victorian inside and is gorgeous. This is the picture over the fire place where everyone gets pictures taken in front of.
So naturally we got our picture taken in front of it too
Even the powder room was decorated to the hilt
This is a lamp that is in the powder room, really looked cute!
There were hats everywhere so if you did not bring your own hat you could wear one of hers. We all had so much fun trying on hats, this hat was my fav
This hat made me think I was back in high school waiting to flip the tassle when I got my diploma
The food was very good and my mom did well in that she at almost everything. They started us off with a fresh fruit cup, then a salad, then scones, still warm out of the oven, with clotted cream. Then it was a cordon bleu on a cracker and a pulled pork slider. Then a home made tomato parmesian soup (had chunks of tomato in it) then a fresh apple cake for desert. The tea that we had was a peach tea, I really enjoyed the taste of it. We had a great day and mom even got a song from the birthday bear.
When we got home mom sat in her recliner and feel asleep. She was still talking about how much fun she had. That was a great afternoon and very well spent.
