Where have I been!!! Time flies.

Well, I've been training at my new job. LOVE IT. I love being a paper pusher.
Haven't been totally lazy, but could do more stuff more often. Last week's family zumba was fun and Tuesday's run was good, but haven't done much since.

Got my results back from the doc. My fasting sugar is up from last time at 117 (was 107) and my insulin is up to 27.1. ( don't know the norm, if anyone knows, let me know. I thought I read something about it being in the teens. I am just unsure if I was reading about insulin)

Well the sugar isn't past 126 so that's great, right? Nope. My sugar is only where it's at because of all that insulin I'm pumping out.

They want me back on meds, but I don't want back on metformin. I know the drug isn't suppose to affect the heart, but when I suddenly forget to take it and the PVCs magically go away...I don't want to leave too much to chance. So, I'm waiting to hear back about what drugs they are going to put me on.

I have to go back to low carbs, and the only carbs have to to be good carbs with low GI. My poor hubby's cholesterol is 294. And he's also been put on a strict diet by the doctor.

Upside, I've learned to make black bean burgers...MMMMMMM so good.

Should check it out. I can make 5-6 burgers with one can of beans. A lot cheaper then ground beef or turkey.

    glad you are still around but would definitely like to SEE you more often!! You are definitely missed!

    At least with hubby having to watch what he eats, also, it kind of helps encourage both of you to do it together. Keep up "taking care of yourselves" and keep in touch!!!

    My hubby is type 2. Our doctor wants his overnight blood sugar level to be 104 or lower if possible. The only carbs that will keep him there are brown rice, whole wheat pasta or bread and fruits or veggies. White potato makes the blood sugar rise. A rule of thumb is (unless you have kidney problems) never eat a carb without some sort of lean protein unless the carb is a fruit or veggie. Hubby just got off insulin and (hopefully) will stay off it if he is careful. He takes Glimperide. Metformin made him break out in big sores that took forever to heal. He immediately went off it.

    I wish you good luck with your quest for lower blood sugar. I know you can do it!

    Welcome back. My wife has type 2 diabetes so we pay attention to her blood sugar level but they haven't tested her Insulin level in years.

    ugar.html and he says less than 10 IU/ml is ideal. FYI my wife is on Metformin and her cardiologist has no problem with that. That doesn't mean they don't cause PVCs.
