Schools out for Summer

Friday, June 08, 2012

Today was the last day for students; it was an emotional day. We have a ritual in which all the teachers go outside at the end of the day and wave goodbye to the kids. (Actually we’re trying to hurry them onto the buses so we can have a party.) What made this day more emotional is that one of my teachers went on an emotional tirade directed towards me. It made for a “great” ending to a great school year. I know she is just feeling frustrated so I’m not taking it personally.

We had Mexican food for the closing luncheon and awards ceremony. I ate an entrée before going to the luncheon and made a salad (lettuce, salsa) there. I’ve found Walden Farms has individual packages of salad dressing to go. No more carrying a glass bottle of salad dressing to restaurants! This week I’ve also been drinking Full Bars Chocolate Silk protein shakes (120 calories/3g fat/15g protein). These shakes are realllly thick!!

I left work and walked 3.3 miles (a much better alternative to eating a greasy burger) to improve my mood. Tomorrow is a work day for teachers. Yes - Saturday! Hopefully my teachers finish checking out early so I can go home. Actually, my church is having their annual cookout tomorrow. I won’t eat but will stop by to visit.
