Something I read...

Friday, June 08, 2012

Something I read today, which another sparker posted, was about editing the food tracker. The idea was interesting but what I did for me is make me think of one option that always perplexed me. The "Serving" box.

I know when I manually enter a food, and decide to choose "serving" as the amount I put in parenthesis what the "serving" should be...2oz, 2 crackers, 2 tsp, etc...

I wish when you check serving option it would tell you an approximate of that particular food serving. I just wish there was something that made it a MUST to add what the serving is.

I believe this is where I come short when tracking. I feel I am really good at tracking my nutrition yet when I have to convert grams to ounces in that moment of time I just guess. Example I have 1 ounce of cheese but the only option is in grams. Yes, I could manually enter a new cheese or jump over to the convert chart or quickly do the math but I DON'T. I guess. Then there is the "serving" box. Example I enter crackers and check the option serving. As I mentioned I give approximates but not everyone does. I could be over or underestimating because I am not sure of the serving size for that food item. I know, I know I could walk over to the pantry and check the label. But that not going to help me when I am out and about.

This is definitely another area I fall short with nutrition. Well, it is not a major deal, I am just trying to figure out why I can't lose these last 7-10lbs. This post the other sparker touch on had me thinking about how I track my nutrition because I do track.

Anyone else have this dilemma?

You don't share your nutrition information so I cannot comment on why you might not be loosing the last 7-10 pounds. I know you exercise enough.

I have the same problem. Some items are easier to track than others.

You can google a "gram/ounce converter" and you can enter the ounces or grams to get what answer you need. :) Best wishes.
