Today marks the one year anniversary of the day I quit smoking. I'm the same weight that I was a year ago (maybe a couple of pounds lighter) and even though I gained weight shortly after I quit I did manage to lose it within the year. I'm determined to continue with my weight loss and the fact that I signed up for a 5k in 2 weeks and a 10k in August helps me stay focused. I'm following a training schedule that has me working out 6 days a week. My endurance could be better and I wish I could run faster like right now but I guess I have to be patient.
I'm still battling my midnight cravings but it has gotten much better lately. I'm conditioning myself to eat a banana, bell pepper or some other fruit or vegetable when I wake up and think I'm hungry. My fridge is stocked with plant based foods and I feel better having cut diary, wheat and sugar out of my diet. I'm hoping this huge change in my diet continues to help me lose weight. So far so good.
