Taking a break

Thursday, June 07, 2012

I did start cardiac rehab today and it went pretty well. They are being really cautious with because they know what all I have been through since the first of March. I am going from now on every Tuesday and Thursday.
When rehab was over I headed to Charleston. I dug up I don't know how many tiger lilies. I had 5 boxes with lilies in them. I brought two boxes home with me and Have planted one box of plants which was 24.
There were two good sized peony bushes and they were both dug up. I brought 3 starts home with me and the rest went with the tiger lilies and some asian lilies to Michael's
I am still going to have to water things better than I already have. The hydrangea Paulina gave me is now mulched real heavily.
Tid Bit
Newspaper weeds away. Plant your plants in the ground; work the nutrients in you soil. Then wet newspapers, put layers around the plants overlapping as you go, cover with mulch and forget about weeds
This does work I have done it for years. The newspaper is also biodegradable
It is time that I finish this break and get back outside and busy. I need to cut back the bleeding hearts that are growing around the air conditioning unit. Eventually they will be transplanted and that area will get newspaper and mulch put down. Just don't know how soon that will be. I guess when I really get ambitious!!
May the Heavenly Father keep you in His loving care.

If I transplanted flowers here in Arkansas, most of them would die from heat exhaustion and very little rain, As it is, I water all of mine every other day and later in the summer, every day. What is your secret to keep your transplants alive?
