Let's call this day 1. Again.

I had my first 'day 1' when I got serious about losing weight, back in Feb. 2011. I logged in nearly everyday that year and numbered my blogs. When I hit my one year anniversary, I was feeling a little stuck so I started the counter again at day 1. I made it 116 days into this second year I have gained and lost the same 5 pounds.

So I'm finding my way back to this site, and back to a healthy lifestyle. Again. So this is day 1 again. I'll have as many day 1's as I need to keep me trying. It's when I've given up that I know I've lost.

Taking care of myself isn't that hard, it's not even that unpleasant, but it takes effort... and I find it hard to keep myself on the list of things to take care of. And I don't have kids!! I don't know how you mothers do it.

So this morning I started with 80 minutes on the elliptical (5 miles), a fresh made juice (kale, grapefruit, grapes, and cuc.) and I logged in to Spark to check on my friends and chart my progress.

I'm going to try to find some time tonight to do a little yoga and lift some light weights to strengthen my shoulder. My husband are on a salad kick for dinner, so I just need to find a healthy lunch and snacks and I'm all set! Oh, and coffee... next step coffee.

Here's to renewed effort and never giving up on yourself.

    My own little mantra is as long as I'm trying, there's a good chance it will stick one of these times and make it happen. So, I know where you're coming from! And, I don't have children either, but still making myself a priority is difficult...but we will work on that!

    Great plan. Love fresh juice for breakfasts too -- it is amazing how filling they are isn't it? "It's when I've given up that I know I've lost" -- so spot on!

    emoticon I have been using a diary that has sections for work, community, and personal. So I try to make sure that I have something in all sections if not for the day, at least over the week. This generally keeps me on track. Although my partner sometimes laughs at me making appointments with myself emoticon
