Week Twenty Two: Charms - Goals & My First 10k.

Today was my first first 10k. What an interesting adventure. I went to the area of the race but it was hard to find a parking spot. I didn't even think about that. When I did find a parking spot, as I was getting out of the car I heard them counting down then the horn to start. I was three blocks away so I had to start jogging. By the time I got there it was only me and the walkers were ahead. As I was jogging by people were cheering me on which was very nice. I didn't last too long with the jogging because I started the three blocks earlier. So, I went to a walk. I did end up passing three people but found out they were in the 5k. I had my Ipod on and walked to the beat and jogged a few times. I caught up to the person ahead of me and walked with her for a while. A good song came on and I jogged a little more. I was amazed to see how fast those other 5k and 10k people were. They were on their way back while I was just getting started. One day I'll be that fast.

I finished and I wasn't last. They announced my name and even gave out certificates but I wasn't there to pick up my certificate since for some odd reason my hands started to swell up. I'm not sure why it happened but it was like my fingers were sausages and they were stiff. It was even painful to drive. I didn't know what was going on so I came home stretched and took a shower then took an Aleve and took a nap. When I woke my hands were just fine. I don't know if I was having an allergic reaction to the water I drank. I'm allergic to all trees and grasses and they had water in cups along the way at the water stations. Since we were on the trails it might have gotten some of the pollens in it. I'll make sure that next time I'll bring my own water.

I did it. I wogged my first 10k!


Goals for Week Twenty-Two

1. Focus on tracking my foods. Really stick to my food tracker.

2. Do at least 6 exercise classes this week.

3. Focus on my plans for the next day.

Aqua Zumba.


Five things I'm grateful for:

1. Being able to do a wog for 10k.
2. Meeting new people.
3. Having a good neighbor.
4. Having two weeks of school left.
5. Finished homework early tonight.
