C25K - Week Four - Day One

Oh my god.

Oh my god.

Are you aware that before week 4, the total running time of any of the previous runs does not exceed 9 minutes? Are you aware that in week 4 that number gets bumped to 16?

Oh my god.

I did it. I got through all of the runs and I only got a stitch during the warm down walk, but I followed the tip the British lady gave me on how to handle stitches. Oh, also, British lady finally told me her name. It's Laura.

Um. Yeah. Today was also the latest in the day that I've run, but it was actually pretty nice out and the sun wasn't (obviously) so bright. There were tons of people out and there were these two teenage girls walking in the opposite direction on the path who I'm pretty sure were kind of judging me, but whatever. I RAN FOR 16 MINUTES TODAY!

Holy crap.

I'm still amazed that I actually did that, but I did! I started getting overwhelmed when, during my first 5 min run, I realized that next week I'm going to do a day of running 20 min straight. However, I stopped myself (my thoughts, not my body) and reminded myself to just take it one day at a time, or better yet, one interval at a time. That's the only way I was making it through those 5 minutes.

But I did it. I did it! And I'll do it again on Tuesday.
