Weight headed back down now that my meds are renewed...

No, not diet pills! But my weight started spiking up after I ran out of my blood-pressure and anti-androgen meds in March. They're both partially diuretics, so I wondered whether the 5.5-lb weight gain was my tissues and blood carrying more water. But there were other factors too, like exercising more and tracking less. Was the weight muscle? Was my body going haywire and turning my slightly-less-restricted, but still VERY healthy food intake into fat already? A combination of the three?
My wife's medical coverage finally kicked in and I got my prescriptions renewed and filled earlier this week. Since then, I've been going down about a pound a day! I'm also in my traditional weight-dip part of my cycle, but I didn't dip at all for the past two months. So I'm suspecting that this is mostly water draining out of my tissues and blood because of the meds. Which is good. (Also, I'm feeling better physically now that I'm back on my meds, because I have those prescriptions for a reason!)
I was mostly worried that I was gaining fat weight, which would mean that my base metabolic rate was lower than I'd thought and I'd need to eat VERY lightly forever to maintain my weight. I didn't think my prospects of maintaining were very strong in that case - my appetite is always very high! But if it was just water weight, then I'm fine and I can keep eating and exercising in a sane and sustainable way. I feel immense relief about that. If I ever get the green light to go off my meds permanently, I'll know to expect a modest water-weight gain.
I'll keep my eye on things and see how they go in the longer run!
My next big change will be my wife returning home in 4 weeks, after 6 months away. (SO EXCITED!!!) We'll have to merge our eating and exercising regimes again, which I'm really looking forward to. She's been doing great while she's away and has developed a brand-new addiction to exercise classes, which I've never done. It'll be good to shake things up. We're talking about setting up our spare room as an exercise centre and streaming Youtube classes on her laptop. There isn't enough room in the desktop office for that right now but since my roommate left, the spare room is mostly empty...
