My first day of June and June goals!!!

Saturday, June 02, 2012

So yesterday was my dads birthday....poor guy couldn't go any where but we still had a fun little celebration here. Fortunately we went to a bakery and got him ONE slice of his favorite cake so that big tempting cake wouldn't be sitting in the kitchen(I'm not usually tempted by it anyways but Jillian says will power is over rated so try not to put yourself in a situation that you have to use it). so heres a shout out Happy Birthday to the best dad on the planet!!!! Love my daddyo!!!!
And no worries my kiddos didn't go without a dessert while papa ate his cake....this dessert was ginormous....
haha...that is my mom and my Brody man being silly....they love chocolate if you couldn't tell :o) but I again had sweet treat was jello and coolwhip...and I love me some coolwhip(in moderation and measured of course)!!!
Yesterday was also a test for leaving my dad alone for a while to see if he could do things on his own without assistance for a period of time. We were just up the street at the school my mom works at for "transportation day". That was a lot of fun. I worked at the same school for 7 years before we moved to Indiana and I usually come back for transportation day every year. Its the biggest day of the year there. All different forms of transportation come and fill the parking lot and field...we usually have helicopter come in and land in the field too and the kids can get on it...this year we were suppose to have a hot air balloon but it was raining all day so that put a slight damper on the day. No hot air balloon and even though there were other things in the parking lot the rain kept us from seeing it all. there were still lots of activities inside so my babies were pretty happy and I was happy to see all of my old coworkers who are still GREAT friends of mine!
Here are some pics from our day there!

rain didn't keep us inside the whole time :o)

Brody would have played in this thing all day if I would have let him!

Bman made his own visor :o) Brinley just wanted the stickers :o)

A great friend and second mama Deb love her!!!!

Another amazing this guy....sure miss working with him every day!!!
It was a fun time!!!!! Rain and all!!!

So my dads "test" day to see how he would do without us went well!!! He did just fine!!! It was only 3 hours but since my mom works down the street she can come by every few hours to check on him so looks like we will be for sure going home on the 4th! I am ready to be home but will miss being here too! But its time for me to get my kids back into their normal routine and get myself back into my routine as well. I'm ready to knock some pounds out in June!!!! Now that you have read all the details of my first day of now on to my goals....

Goals for June-
*lose 8lbs (from whatever my weight is on the 5th...still gotta weigh in to see how I did while here helping my dad)
update I weighed in at 195 so goal is to be 187lbs by June 30th!
*get a 3 mile walk/jog in at least 3 times a week
* zumba 3 times a week(I usually do this but being gone all May it didn't happen)
*get more strength training in
*spend some time at the beach!!!
*HAVE FUN!!!!!!!

(I will actually be heading back up this way on June 9th for a few days...I have family coming up from Tenn and I have 2 graduation parties to attend on the 9th, but my hubs will be with me on that trip and it will only be 4 days and then we will be back home the rest of the month. So I should be able to rock out all of my goals this month!)

Have a GREAT month spark friends...dont forget to set goals for yourself!
I appreciate you all so much!!!!

Your dad looks great and happy -- very good for recovery! And what a cool idea to have a transportation day at the school -- I'm sure the kids love it!

Setting monthly goals...that is something I need to start doing. I have set goals, but not monthly ones. Happy to hear your dad is doing well. Enjoy your time with your family and good luck with your June goals!

I have to challenge you on your claim that your dad is the "best dad on the planet". I don't see how that could be possible, since my own dad currently holds that title.

Good luck with all of your June goals! Sounds like things might eventually be settling down for you this month.

Sounds like you are going to be just about as busy as you were in May. Keep up that pace and you should have no problem losing 8 pounds in a month. You go Girl!!!

I am definitely adding the "have fun" goal to my June. Sometimes we forget that and focus too much on the work ahead. Your dad looks like he's doing great. So glad his alone time went well, it has to be a huge relief for your mom. Good luck in June.

So glad you had such a good time away and glad that you're back home too. That's the best place for getting into a routine for your health. I love your June goals and that makes me want to sit down and make mine up too. Thanks for the inspiration! I'm so happy too about your DaddyO!!! emoticon emoticon

Great goals! I set my goals out for June as well. Like you, I was away from home for all of May and felt like a fish out of water. Am GLAD to be home and back to where I know I can MAKE IT HAPPEN!

I love your goals and mine are similar. My fitness center has started offering more Zumba classes and I cannot BELIEVE what a calorie burner that class is.

Let's ride the wave of all of this enthusiasm and get 'er done!
