1. Bike or walk to where I need to go instead of driving the car.
A big thumbs up on this one! I did really great with this goal. Me and my daughter would bike to her Girl Scout meetings as well as all my boys baseball games. And then we would walk to gymnastics. I think we will be keeping this up!
2. Get out hiking and geocaching.
Even though we were busy every weekend we still found some time to geocache. I even blogged about it! So another thumbs up. Hopefully June we will have even more time to get out hiking.
3. Go to a few backyard workouts this month.
Only made it to one backyard workout this month but summer is just starting so there will be plenty more. My friend and I also made plans to start running in the evening during the week. And on weekends we will be getting in a long bike ride. Can't wait to get in all those miles!
4. Celebration central... May is a celebration month for us. It is my birthday month and hubby's plus it is also our 13th wedding anniversary month. So this month I am going to make sure there is extra time set aside for some alone time for hubby and I!
We could have used more time for just the two of us but we did fit in a date night in May. We went to my cousins wedding and actually had the whole night free without the kids. It was nice waking up in the morning and going out to breakfast with my hubby. Would love to do that more often!
5. Finish getting the garden ready so we can start planting veggies.
The garden is ready but we have had too many rain days and heavy storms that we have not planted the veggies yet. We still have them in their tray and bring them inside when the storms get too strong. Hopefully by next weekend we can get them planted.
All in all May was a great month for me! Now onto June goals......
Log the miles away
I am hoping to hit at least 100 miles or more this month. Between running, biking, hiking, and walking.... I should have no problem hitting it.
This month I am going to focus on my eating and what I am feeding my body. I am going to take the time preparing my meals so that they are cleaner and less processed.
I was talking to my trainer and he suggested a new workout routine that has me working out even more than I already am. But he swears that this works so I am going to give it a whirl. Right now I can sometimes fit in two workouts during the day. I do one usually at my lunch break during work and then when we don't have a schedule full of activities in the evening I can fit in another one there. The evening one doesn't always work out but I am going to try to find ways this month to make it work. My fitness minutes for the month of May were well passed 1700. I am hoping June brings even more. Time to step it up!
Re-igniting my Spark
I have been slacking a little on Spark lately. Sorry about that! June is the month that I re-ignite my Spark and get back to the boards and checking in with all my Spark buddies. Because truly, you are the ones that keep me the most motivated.
These goals should keep me plenty busy for June. Plus, with the kids out of school as of June 6 I will even have more time to fit in more fun! Summer is almost here.....
GREAT MONTH and GREAT GOALS!!!!! We were able to start our vegetable garden. We keep most of our plants on our deck because the deer get to them!!! But we have strawberries, tomatoes, and zucchini growing now.
I am also re-ignighting my spark!!!! I miss my wonderful sparkbuddies and it's really what gets you motivated and going!!!! It's so good to see you and it feels great to be back!!!!
