5 Days smoke free, and man has it been hard...side affects suck...

Thursday, May 31, 2012

Well when i quit smoking i would of never expected some of these side effects i had...Its was cool the first day but day 2,3 and 4 were bad in so many ways....First off i was having hot flashes and couldnt sleep very long about an hour at a time. I would just toss and turn i was so sleepie most of the time it was bad. Second thing was food just didnt taste good. When going thru a break up a lot of the time i just dont think anything taste good, well i guess when you break up with cigs its the same thing all i did was try diff foods take a few bites and throw the rest away...things that tasted ok...greek yougert, cookie dough, mt dew and coke so thats what i ate for three days lol....i just felt blah like i had no energy no matter how much sugar and caffien i had, at one point i couldnt sleep to the point of staying awake for almost 34hrs it was bad last night i finaly feel into a deep sleep and stayed asleep from around midnight to about noon i woke today feeling good and ill tell you what i can breath i feel so much better and food is tasting normal again. I am coughing up a lung still and im coughing up some dark stuff most

side affects i have not have...after spending some time one why i was expecting the cravings to be worse than they were there was only about twice that i had such a bad craving that i would of bought a pack of cigs if i left the house...they didnt last very long tho and i was able to fight them...second i didnt get angry or anxious really either...i also didnt go thru the 5 stages of dealing with death like they said was normal to do when quiting smoking...sidenot i have gained about seven lbs the scale at davita told me but im ok with that if i have managed to quti smoking which is way harder than leading a healthy lifestyle, then once i get settled with this i will just have to make up for lost time, im automatical doing better even if i end up gaining 20 25lbs becuase im not smoking two packs a day like i was i feel so much better and i will work on staying in my calories later right now im just tracking so i just know what im putting into my body iv also stated working out yay so im making steps in the right direction...

I know this is tough. I quit 4 and a half years ago after smoking for 20 some odd years. Just keep focused and you will eventually quit counting the days. emoticon emoticon
