A 1000 Word Picture

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

I woke a little early this morning and completed a 1 mile walk with Leslie. I also decided to track my calorie intake (without the fruits/vegetables) on SparkPeople. While I have been recording my SEFV, I just want to chart my calories for a week.

Because the weather was nice, I walked 3.4 miles after school. I went to the college’s fitness trail.

After dinner, I was emailing my sister the pictures we took at my aunt’s birthday party (beginning of May). My sister took a picture of me and my aunt (after I lost approximately 38 pounds). It’s amazing how I can look at myself every morning but don’t see the changes but the “old” me.

On the same disk is a picture of me at Christmas with my grandmother. I noticed that I don’t have my double chin any more, my neck looks thinner and there are other changes.

I decided to walk to CVS to print both pictures. When I got home I spent time comparing the two and then posted them to the refrigerator. It’s just a reminder of how far I have come and I don’t want to undo the progress that I have made. I’m off to drink my final shake……

This must be a very special moment for you. So glad you had the pictures and now they can serve as a constant reminder of your success. Would be very motivating in many ways. Congratulations!!! You done good.

Great idea/reminder to utilize visual cues as motivators.
Have to give that some thought. Fridge is certainly optimum place for
    a motivator.

It is hard to notice the change when we look at ourselves. But seeing it in pictures helps us to see the big picture.

I have been looking at pictures of me that were taken last year and need to get a current one taken so I can do some comparison. Thanks for the idea.
