It's interesting how a bad day can lead to a new way of looking at things. I found this site on a terrible day when I was at my wits' end trying to stay away from ice cream like it had become some kind of drug and I was addicted. Only a couple of days later, i discovered that sweet potatoes and black beans make a good meal; I walked on my treadmill for 10 minutes, and I feel able to look forward to more good days for the first time in a while. I don't say I have overcome my inclination to feel sorry for myself, but I have taken steps.
I would have never considered sweet potatoes and black beans for lunch if it wasn't suggested on the Sparks meal tracker. I added a can of asparagus tips and an apple and it was great. Who knew? I know what makes a nutritious, filling meal but I had forgotten. It's easy to forget the things we know and seek an easier, softer way.
I am glad I stumbled on this site at this time. I need a friend or two who is on the same journey to walk with. I watched "The Way" last night. I watched it after posting here for the first time and deciding to say hello rather than just post my food. Ironic, eh? I have posted my food choices on other sites before, and never interacted with others on those sites. I am going to try to to stay involved here, That's all I can do. Try.
