I have been tracking my weight for years, thanks to the fact that I run a series of Challenges in a SparkTeam. I have noticed that my weight goes down in the summer and up in the winter. That appears to be something I have no control over. My goals are for the RANGE to get lower and maybe narrower. If I expect myself to maintain the weight I get down to in the height of summer, that is an unreasonable goal because my body WILL start storing fat as the weather gets cooler.
So. In the Winter of 2010-2011, I got up to 272 pounds. In the Summer of 2011, I got down to 228 pounds. In the Winter of 2011-2012, I only got up to 248 pounds. It's not quite the heat of Summer, and I'm already down to 227, so I need to increase that -- maybe I can hit my goal weight of 215, maybe I can't, but I'll give it the old kindergarten try. And then my goal next Winter will be to hold myself under 240.
Despite that lovely (read: irritating) graph line SP give us, there is no straight line to weight loss. It's a wave pattern. Or so I now believe.
May your waves get lower.
