Commo Hill.
UGH!
I loathe this hill. Commo hill is part of the Fort Carson landscape. Anyone that is posted here knows of commo hill. It is often used as PT (physical Training) torture for soldiers, there are footpaths worn into the sides of the hill as soldiers (and other like minded individuals) do interval training up it's sides.
Since beginning to exercise about 6 weeks ago, I have dreams of running up commo hill someday. The past couple weeks I have taken the walking path that skirts one side of commo hill. Yesterday I went running with a close friend of mine (lemtimes here on SP) and we did that path.
My beloved husband and I had a day together today. JJ was at preschool this morning (last day of the year, where has the year GONE?!) and Elliott was with us. It was a grey day so we decided to go for a walk and take the gradual path up commo hill.
The entire way up, Josh was telling me PT stories about running commo hill with the company and watching people fall out near the beginning of the path. I got about 100 ft up before I handed the stroller over to Josh to push the rest of the way.
It was TOUGH!!!!! BUT I DID IT! I didn't run, but honestly I felt like a badass just getting to the top!!
Here are some pictures.
At the top!
Another view! You can see the start of my typical walking path (the clay path towards the bottom of the hill).
This one is taken at the top of my lower elevation walking path. This was actually taken last night while walking with Lemtimes!
In one picture you can see the red rocks of Garden of the Gods. It's incredibly the view we had from commo hill.
I walked back down (pushing the stroller lol) thinking "someday, I will run you!" and I will.
