Well, I remember setting a goal that by my nephew's high school graduation, I wanted to be 200 lbs. Graduation is tonight and I am 218 as of this morning. I did not meet my goal but I do not feel bad about it either. I have lost 46 pounds and did hit one major goal today --losing as much as my youngest daughter weighs!! I lost a whole NATALIE!! LOL. I have had days where I felt on top of the world (today is one of those) and days that I felt like I was just going through the motions and didn't want to track food, exercise, drink one more ounce of water, and just be lazy. All I can say is, thank goodness that even when you just 'go through the motions' you still burn calories.
In the past 5 months, I've went from zero fitness to consistently hitting over 1000 minutes a month. I'm a Couch to 5k graduate and actually ran an entire and my first 5k! That is progress! I almost lost it after the 5K --there was a letdown of sorts. The training and pushing and preparing for the last 60 days were done. I did it. And then continued a fun weekend but it was full of bad habits, junk food, and sleep. Not good combinations for me. After a week or so of 'going through the motions' I've successfully kicked it back into gear and that is where I am at today.
I've also outed myself at work and a few people know that I ran a 5k. One of the ladies at work approached me excited to tell me she is signing up to walk a 5k with her family too. And my ex's parents will be joining me for the next 5k. We've chose one closer to home on July 4th that benefits the Veterans. My kids are going to walk the 5k with my sister, while Grandma and Grandpa and Mommy run it. I can't wait to take pictures. They also have been focused on losing weight and getting healthy this year so this will be a good challenge for them.
I'm also in a challenge at Curves for the month of May that closes tomorrow. I would be lying if I said I didn't think I am a top contender. May has been an awesome month for me. I weighed in at 232 for the contest and am at 221 today using their scale (my scale is 3# lighter and matches my docs office). I weigh in Monday morning so that will make me stay on track for the weekend! The top prize is cash- guessing about $40 or $50 but still!
Looking forward to June, I would like to continue logging in at Spark, Curves 3-4x a week, Zumba 3x a week (free classes in June, LOVE FREE!!), and running 3x a week. Lots and lots of fitness minutes to log, but looking forward to keeping busy and getting closer and closer to ONEderland!!
