Maximum Frustration

Thursday, May 24, 2012

It took me 3 hours to get to work today. As I turned the corner to the train station, I watched my train pull away from the platform. Then next train was in 30 minutes. I waited for the next train, and even though it was supposed to be an express, we just chugged along at regular speed. When we go to the city, I got off at the first station to grab a connection to my area of the city. The connection was pulling out as I got off the train I was on. The next train was in 15 minutes, so I waited.

I got on the next train to my destination, and when we got about 50 feet from my stop, the train stopped. The conductor said we were waiting for a train that was at the platform to move. Then we started to back up ---- all the way to the last station! When we go to the platform, they didn't open the doors. Everyone was going to be late - very late. We asked to get off the train, and I walked the last mile to work. I was sooooo frustrated. It was hot and humid and I had sandals on - not walking shoes. My backpack was very heavy becasue I had my laptop with me.

Halfway to my office, I slowed down - I was late anyway, so I might as well enjoy the walk -- So I did. I'll make up the time tomorrow.
