My thoughts on Phillip Phillips

Thursday, May 24, 2012

Isn't there a saying , "Lord it pays to be humble""---?
I thought of it last night, as I watched Phillip Phillips win American Idol-
If you follow it, Jessica , a sweet little girl, with a ton of confidence, who can belt out a song beautifully---was his advisary-
I thought she would win the thing--"She " thought she would win the thing--or, that's how it seemed to me--She was an amazing talent.
So is Phillip Phillips--amazing I mean----but--in a different way-His songs were songs we knew with his own twist on them--His performances were unique--He looked so happy and in his own world, while singing--And he seemed so humble--When asked last night to say something before they revealed the winner, he built up his competition-Jessica--
He just appears to be a very nice lad----truly appreciative of the award---couldn't sing for crying-hugged his family after---
And I am an old Lady---with many kids of my own---but I felt I could sit right down in my kitchen and make Phillip Phillips a sandwich and he would be kind and respectful of me--
Maybe America saw the same in him----He is one of us----just a guy who enjoys playing his guitar--
But---right now--a gal has to get this day moving----another day without rain it seems----I'm off to the city to take husband for an eye check-up--with 2 Germans breathing down my neck--
Sounds like fun eh??
Hang in there oh humble Sparklers!

I watched too and actually preferred Phillip over Jessica who needs to grow into her big voice. I really liked his version of "Home", a Mumford & Sons song that doesn't sound anything like the original. I think what you see is what you get with him and will remain as such - most times he didn't go along with the advice of the mentors and did things his way from styling to singing - not the best singer in the competition, but he definitely stood out from the rest. Good Luck to him!

Hope your DH has a good check up @ the eye Dr.

And move I must, too! Busy day and the garden (yup, dreadmills, gardens and German Shephards - - they all talk!) is calling me. "Come water me! Come look see how much we've grown!"

Have a fantastic Thursday -- you rock!!

Good morning! I didn't see it, but he sounds wonderful! I bet nobody forgets his first name, or is it his last name, no wait his first name? emoticon I am sure he has heard that a million times. Honestly just joking here. There is something special about humility. I think more people should attempt it?
Well, I hope you have a wonderful day today. No rain here either. It will be in the low 90's today, and we are having field day with the children! Hot and sweaty! By the end of the day, our entire building will smell wonderful! Can't wait! Better grab the sunscreen! emoticon emoticon Better give hugs now, you wouldn't want one later! Tell son #2 hi!
