Makin' Up is hard to do = 4 miles including THE HILL OF DOOOOM

My husband just came in from working out of town for weeks. So yesterday the fam and I spent the whole day with my beloved. We were gone most of the day and I didn't get to fit in my 2 mile walk.

This morning I woke up and knew that I had to make up for missing my walk. I didn't know at the time if I was going to do 2 separate walks -- one in the morning and one at night. Maybe I was going to see how I felt after the first 2 miles and keep walking.

Well .. we had already planned on going to see The Avengers tonight so I knew my regular scheduled night time walk was not going to work out. So silly me headed out for my walk before noon. I didn't think it was going to be much of a problem since at least half of my walk is shaded. Well I found out today that it is not shaded during this time of day!!

The kiddos headed out with me. My daughter made it two miles before I had to call my husband to come pick her up for a bathroom emergency. My son decided to stay with me and see if we could do 4 miles including THE HILL OF DOOOOM. For those who don't know about the Hill.. you can read about it in a previous blog.

Well.. we made it 3 miles and we were soon approaching The Hill. We were hot. We were beat. But we kept singing these two songs over and over.

It was so cute seeing my son singing and claiming victory over this walk. We huffed .. we puffed.. and as we approached The Hill we noticed that there was NO SHADE. This was going to be brutal. Not only had we walked further than usual... we walked when it was super hot with no shade. Luckily we brought water!

We decided that when The Hill of Doom is shining like a beacon with no shade what so ever.. that we would then refer to this beast as. .....

THE HILL OF DOOOOOOM AND GLOOOOOM.

We kicked it's butt. We made it.

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!
