An avoided binge

Wednesday, May 23, 2012

Yesterday I had lunch with a friend, it was bffet and I had planned to eat a lot and then not have any dinner... but there was so many delicious vegetables that I ended up eating a regular serving.

We had rehearsal in the evening and I started for home at nine - REALLY hungry. Stopped by the food store and if I had not given up meat I would have bought pork and I bought what is called "nature sweets" - yoghurt and wheat puffs or almonds with coating of something sugare and cashew nuts flavoured with chili and lime...AND passed a pryamid of chips with a new flavour - grilled sandwich flavour WOW have to have one.

It is really really insanity. I know I am in for disaster but can´t stop myself. Opened the chips bag as soon as I was in my car and grabbed some...mmmm delicious.

And then I started to think. I knew for certain that I would eat the whole bag once it was in my house. Thougt of throwing chips out the window, on the highway with traffic, not a good idea. Thought "oh I can take them to work tomorrow and put them in a bowl on the conference table...hah! Those chips would never survive an evening in my house!

Theydid not get in, nor did about half of those sweets. I left them in the car, they still threaten me but I did not binge on them yesterday, had two or three handfuls and feel kind of good about it all, since I biked for about 90 minutes yesterday....

Rehearsal was great, although doggy seems to be a little claustorfobic - not good when you are supposed to sit inside a cake for a while... got better though and there is hope!

We also decided to use the russian entry for the eurovision song contest as our encore after the finish of our play. "Buranovskiye babuschk" won national entry in russia and is probably going to win it all - they just make me happy!

Good idea on keeping it in the car and not going back out to get them. You are getting a lot of exercise, I don't think I could bike for 90 minutes...unless it was downhill.

You are a strong woman! To have stuff sitting in your car and not run out to get it, wow, you ought to be really proud of that.

emoticon For diverting a binge! emoticon

"Come On And Dance!!" Love it! I can see why it makes you happy, the entire audience agrees!

Out of sight, inconvenient to get to, I've used these ploys too. They work, at least for awhile. If I don't get my mind on something else, I can still cave. You did great!

Love your dog! Beautiful in a quirky way; like Sugar. Bigger than I imagined; I hope showtime goes well!

Good job getting through it. I sometimes have urges to stop by fast food but i remind myself how awful it will make me feel and how much sodium it has and it usually does the trick. sometimes i wish i coudl throw stuff away but i grew up in a huge family where we didn't "waste" things so it's hard. my mom was the type that reminded me about the starving kids. but, later in my life, someone told me well it is still waste if it goes to your waist and i like that saying. it's either waste in the trash or waste on your waist... so i've been proud of myself when i throw away food that my daughter didn't finish instead of eating it, etc.. but yeah, good for you!
also, see if you can find some homeless shelters taht take food donations. i'm sure they would love whatever you give them.

My plan was to throw the chips, not the bag, the chips would disappear "Naturally" - but I didn´t want to clutter the cars behind with objects...

Hey, good for you!!!! I've been there and I'm ashamed to admit I did throw stuff out the window in a residential neighborhood...unfortunately it was just the candy bar wrapperS as I had already inhaled the candy.
