Honestly love to work out! I love to sweat and lift weight i love doing something i wasnt able to do the week before more of what i was having trouble with was getting started...but tonight when i got home from cleaning i took my first step, i did about 20mins of upperbody! And as i stay up all night if i can just get myself on the treadmill for about 30mins (Which im confident i will! Be postive!) Lol its talking the first step i find hard for some reason

I'm in the same boat that you are with motivation, but I'm working on a different mind set now. Maybe that will help? Don't tell yourself that you have to do it, tell yourself that you WANT to do it. It really does help! Also, do you mow your lawn? That burns a lot of calories, housework like an above poster mentioned, etc. Can you give yourself 10 minute intervals to do something? Speed clean? Dance around your house? Go for a walk? Etc? Good luck, and I hope you get your financial aid figured out :)

why call it working out? did you know that if you browse the activities there is a section for housework? Do you dance? walk? Have you tried the seated core workouts? do you go up and down stairs carrying laundry? does that get you anywhere?

How about going to a church and helping out on the weekends? You get some physical exercise and you get bonus goodies by adding new friends.

If not the church, try and old folks home, or a community group such as scouts or brownies, etc. I could not get someone to see me in exercise clothes for a while, but slepping in old clothes while helping to clean someone else's basement or helping them with a flower bed was definitely on my list.

So try helping someone else, and get a new friend while you're at it. You sound like a nice person to know, so try a new fad- help someone and lose weight at the same time.

emoticon on getting the position you wanted at work.

It is small baby steps to workout. Try something you enjoy doing, like walking, jumping rope, zumba, etc. Then start off by saying I will do this for 10 minutes see how you feel after that then say hey I can go another 10 push yourself a little each time further and before you know it you will be working out and enjoying it.

    GOOD LUCK.

Well you say you really want to be in the 240s and the only way that you'll get there in a month is IF you start working out and going to the gym. At first, I hated going to the gym, it sucked. But probably 2 weeks in, the gym became a favorite for me. I HAVE to go everyday. Yes, there are days when I really don't want to go, I'm too tired. But I go anyways, and I ALWAYS feel great that I did.

Just stick with it, force yourself to go (PLAN for it!), and go. You'll be glad that you did.

As a side note: If you need motivation to go to to the gym, which is essential for losing weight, do you know what your motivation is to lose weight? This is just to make you think and hopefully that thinking will cause you to be like "I want to go to the gym, dang it!"

I had to find something that motivated me. Then I added Spark friends that keep encouraging me and giving me the extra motivation I need to keep going. I will be the 1st to admit, it hasn't been easy. And I have days when my "lazyitis" flares up. Times like these is when I get on SP and it gets me going.
    Continued success on your journey.

Everyday I don't want to work out, and every day I do and as so happy I did it. I think we have to stop thinking so much about it and do it. It doesn't matter if ou want to or to, just do....and have pride in yourself for doing it!

Not really, I didn't start until I felt like starting and I think this is how it should be for everyone. I think working our sucks and I just do it because I know I have to, but I don't love it; heck, I don't even like it.
