fun exercise + more !!!

Hello everybody, Thank for stopping by my latest blog.
So after 11 weeks of going to the gym, I have been getting bored with the gym workouts. Luckily for me the weather has changed and so have I. Two weeks ago, I went digging through my garage and came across my roller blades. After a trip to the local skate shop for a tune up, my girlfriend Brittney and I went to adult night at the roller skating rink. After getting home and entering that exercise into the fitness tracker, I realized how many calories (950 /hr) I could burn by just going out for a couple hours and having fun !! Can you believe that....FUN !!! Who knew that exercise could be fun ??
So this past week I decided to go digging again. This time out in the shed in Brit's father's yard next door. I had made up my mind that I was going to buy myself a new bicycle. We headed out to the shed to get her bike so we could get it tuned up and ready for riding. As I walked in the shed to grab her dusty bike from storage, I see a pretty nice men's mountain bike hanging on the wall...SCORE !!!!! It was a bike her farther had got from an estate sale and had been just sitting there collecting dust. I pulled it down and sat on it to find it was perfect in size for me. We took the bikes up to my cousins bike shop to drop them off and get both bikes cleaned & tuned up. While we were there we each bought a new super padded seat and a few other accessories we picked out.
We should be getting the bikes back from the shop on Saturday...YAHOOO !!! The weekend weather is to be sunny and in the low 70's. Perfect bike riding weather. I have spent a few hours online, looking up bike trails around the state and have a list of 6 or 7 different beginner trails for us to take on. I can't wait to get some serious exercise minutes in while having fun cruising around on our bikes.
Brit's dad had some serious surgery and I took over moving the lawn this week. I passed up the driving mower and went straight for the push mower. We live next door to her parents and with 2 very large yards to mow, I got going this morning at 11am. 6 hours later, with a 1 hour break, I had been mowing for 5 hours !! And NO, I did not even finish !!! I would guess that I mowed about 60% of it. I was very surprised to find lawn mowing with a push mower in the fitness tracker !!! 5 hours or 300 minutes of push mowing for a 330 pound guy came out to a whopping 3,000 calories burned !!!! And speaking of burned, I did get a small burn on the back of my neck from the sun. Note to self : sunblock
I will finish up tomorrow and burn a whole lot more calories. With that many calories, I may just mow the lawn every 3 or 4 days, just for the workout it gives me.
Started to get excited for memorial day weekend camping trip up to the White Mountains of New Hampshire !!! I really love camping. No phones, computers, chores or people to bother me. Just a weekend of peace & quiet !!! I will be taking the bikes with us and hopefully we can find some flat areas around us to go for a nice long ride. If not, then I will just bike around the campground as much as possible. Camping always includes a few extra calories but as long as I am getting in exercise everyday then I should be alright. Plenty of stuff to do if the weather is nice. They have a pool, basketball court, horseshoes and a mini golf course. It should be a blast !!
Hey, that got me thinking " basketball" I saw a old deflated basketball in the garage. I think I am going to pick up a small pump and the needle I need to get that basketball ready for the courts....yay. more fun exercise !!!!!
