30-Day Juice Journey -- Day 4

Friday, May 18, 2012

Hello there,

Checking in for day 4 of my 'juice feast'. Day four was a little better than day 3. I've been watching lots of YouTube videos on juice fast/feasting, and many people report experiencing headaches, moodiness, irritability, etc. on days 3 & 4. I experienced none of these things. I have experienced sluggishness, listlessness and achiness. I feel as though I have a low-grade flu. When I get really still, I feel an overall achiness in my body like when you're getting sick. I've experienced this for the last 2 days. Maybe it's what my former nutrition teacher used to refer to as a 'healing crisis'. Not sure.

I can report that the constipation is gone. At least for today. We'll see how tomorrow works out. Complicating things is the fact that I'm on an antibiotic for a throat infection. I don't think the achiness is related to that, but the relief from the restroom issues may be. Sorry if that's TMI, but that's the kind of thing I'd want to know if I were considering a juice fast.

TaeBo was fine this morning. I wasn't particularly sluggish until 2 or 3 in the afternoon. I just felt like I was recovering from some kind of sickness. Just generally weary.

The juices have not been exciting so far. I'll have to really start researching some interesting recipes. I did a juice 'icee' this evening that I actually enjoyed. Didn't get to work any ginger into the plan today. Maybe tomorrow.

Still dealing with occasional cravings, and trying to accept that I won't be eating any solid food until 6/14. I don't think the desire to eat will ever leave, but it's nothing I can't manage. I feel strong, overall.

Here's to happy juicing!

Days 3&4 of eliminating any food tend to be hard--whether it's headaches or sluggishness...

You sound like you're really making this work! (I love the thought of adding ginger to just about anything...)
