Kohl's and Garden

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

Well, took Jackie (Alison's MIL) to her doctor's appointment this morning and all is well with the now cataract-free eye. She has an appointment next week regarding possible hip replacement surgery. At least she acknowledges she will need to be in a rehab place afterwards and maybe have some home help. After I took her home, I decided to go to Kohl's because I had a 30% off coupon. It was a little frustrating buying the same size clothes I've been in for quite a while now. Been here just about 11 months now and have no appreciable weight loss to show for it. I do feel I'm in better health, though, so that's something. I didn't buy too much stuff, so if I suddenly drop a lot of pounds I won't be out much money. Ha!

Sopped by the garden on my way in and noticed the pole beans have started sprouting. I think the cuke seeds may be too old--no sign of anything happening there. Guess I need to buy some new ones. The rain has been keeping the garden happy. Can't believe it rained like crazy early this morning and I didn't hear it. I usually do. It got quite warm and humid today, so I'm glad I was indoors most of the day.

    I love Kohl's!
I wish we had a place to plant vegetables and fruits, It is so much fun when they are ready to be picked and have NO pesticides.

Glad your little beans are sprouting! Nothing here yet.

Sometimes it's the non-scale victories (feeling healthier, more energy) that have to be enjoyed. The scale will follow.

    Well, hugs to you.
