Bounce! Bounce! Bounce!

This weekend is the inaugural Portland Rock'n'Roll Half Marathon, and in case you can't tell,
It's not the race itself that has me bouncing around so much, though I expect that to be a blast. It's the meetups that will be happening while we're there!
Saturday I'll be meeting up with one of my best friends from high school whom I have not seen since before I was married 32 years ago. We reconnected some time back on Facebook and discovered she's in the Portland area while I'm in the Seattle area. We have not been able to work out the timing and logistics to get together until now, and I was not at all sure we'd be able to do it even though I'll be down there because she's been in Amsterdam for the last several weeks. When I saw on Facebook that she was home, though, I immediately asked if she had any time, and it turns out SHE is doing the race as well as a walker, so we're meeting her and her husband on Saturday.
Then Saturday evening, we'll be meeting a group of Sparkers and their families for dinner at Old Spaghetti Factory. I feel like I'll be meeting old friends there even though we've never met in person; I'm really looking forward to connecting with people there and putting voices/faces with names. I'm glad at least some of us will get a chance to meet before the race!
Of course, what is supposed to be the main attraction of this adventure is the race on Sunday. I AM looking forward to doing the race with my husband, my friend Shannon (who is HOPESFREEDOM here and will be at dinner on Saturday), my high school friend Mary, and my SparkFriends, even though we may not see one another too much during the race. (Those of you walking, realize my running may not be much or any faster than your walking!) Afterward, any Sparkers who can hang out awhile will be meeting up at the 'S' sign in the reunion area, so hopefully at least some of us will connect there.
See why I'm bouncing off the walls?!
My husband and I will be heading south to Portland Friday afternoon . . . is it Friday yet?
Bounce! Bounce! Bounce! See some of you very soon!
