"There's a peace I've come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There's an anchor for my soul
I can say "It is well"
Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead "
- Chris Tomlin - I will Rise
I woke up this morning with 10,000 Reasons by Matt Redman running through my head, what a great way to start the day with your brain immediately tuned in to worship music. Awesome!
I came downstairs, got the kids started on their breakfasts and sat down at the computer to catch up on FB quick before my crazy day begins (4 therapy sessions before 1pm today). As I was scrolling through my news feed I came across a couple pictures of my beautiful friend welcoming her husband home last night. He has been gone for the last year in Afghanistan and while he's been gone, she has endured many hardships. Most importantly her mother passed away in the fall/winter of last year.
She has been incredibly strong. She hasn't been perfect but who is?!? She has shown me again why we do what we do as military wives. We do it because it is God's gift to us. It is our way of saying "we will follow" because we have no other choice. I praise the Lord that He gives us His peace through the dark times when we are all alone with too much responsibility and not enough patience :).
So, today I am smiling because I know a family is reunited after a long and difficult year. I am thrilled for her and excited to hopefully get to meet her husband someday lol!
To my husbands irritation, I have been cycling through two favorite worship songs on my ipod lately. I will Rise by Chris Tomlin and 10,000 Reasons by Matt Redman. Both are incredible but I'm sharing Chris Tomlin's video for I will Rise with you here this morning.
As I said, I have a busy day. My husband is once again gone to the field so I'm on my own and trying to find enough hours in the day to get everything done.
I'm so grateful to have peace this morning.
