My Spark anniversary

Three years with Spark! emoticon
And that is just about how long it has taken me to get where I want to be. In January of this year, I decided that I would make "one last attempt" to lose weight and if I didn't do it this time, I would give up trying. Not give up exercising, mind you, but throw out the scale because "no matter what I did, I just could not lose any pounds."
At least that's how I explained it to myself in January when I went back to tracking my food, and this time also added drinking water, exercising several times a week, adding more fruits and vegetables, varying my workouts.... and so on and so forth.
In other words, in January, far from making "one last attempt," I finally put it all together!
Needless to say, it worked!
Thank you, Spark People, for getting me here!
Now that's a nice anniversary present!

Congratulations and happy anniversary!!! My 3 years on the Spark is coming up next month and although I am not near goal, I have learned a lot and come a long way toward knowing who I am. It is wonderful that you were able to really make some changes that moved you forward this spring.

Congratulations! I'm looking forward to the day when I can make this post as well. I too joined SparkPeople, and then quit, and then tried again, and then quit. And I finally decided to get serious and stop lying to myself about all my sad 'attempts' at eating better and exercising more. The thing that finally booted me in gear was the chart that had tracked every attempt on my Spark page, and I hated to see how many times I had given up. Not this time! So glad to hear I'm not alone in the struggle to keep the motivation going! emoticon
