17 Day Diet
Cycle 1: Accelerate, Day whatever. Who knows or cares at this point?

The good news it that my kids seem to have mostly gotten over whatever illness took them out.

The bad news is that I can attest that this thing comes on fast, hits you like a ton of bricks and then sticks around.

Saturday morning, I headed out to Costco to buy a new TV. We budgeted for it, and shopped around, and finally found the one we wanted. Before I got there, I knew I had to turn around and go home. I spent the rest of the day taking trips between my bed and the bathroom. Occasionally, I'd stick the thermometer in my ear, read numbers like 102 or 103 and collapse back into the bed.

I'm usually able to kick this kind of thing in 24 hours. I've gotten this sick before, and I'm back at my normal activities the next day. But not this time. I was still so weak on Sunday I barely got out of bed. Monday, I called in sick to work - which is big for me, because working can mean putting on a pair of slippers and moving from my bed to my office chair.

I tried eating a real meal last night, and it was a mistake. Small servings of soup and applesauce are OK, but my stomach rebelled against real food.

Even this morning, I had yogurt and blackberries, and it feels like a lead weight in my stomach. I wish I had just stuck to tea.

On the plus side, I've lost 2.5 lbs since Friday...

I hope you are better now. We had something come through our house a couple of times while our kids were still at home that sounds like what you are going through. The doc called it the Norwalk virus. I remember finding my second to the oldest hugging the toilet at 2AM. When I walked in with a wet wash cloth she said "The toilet is my best friend." Poor thing...she slept on the floor all night. All six kids had it...ugggg! Anyway. If it is the Norwalk the great thing is that you won't get it for at least 6 years if it comes around again according to my doctor. emoticon

Sorry you were ill on Mother's Day. At least you had some weight loss out of the deal. I hope you are feeling much better as the week goes on. I work at home as well so I understand that just because your home doesn't mean you can sit up straight and think coherently.
