Softball Mothers Day

Monday, May 14, 2012

Another weekend gone by and actually it was a pretty enjoyable one. Those of you who read my last blog may recall that I got 3 new books that I was waiting for.....I read them all! I can't help myself! Once I start a really good book I can't put it down!

Besides reading til my eyes crossed, I had a very nice Sunday with my mom. We went to my niece's softball games. Mom never misses a game if she doesn't have to - so to the park I went! I have 4 nieces and 3 are relatively the same age and play on the same team, plus my two brothers coach the team. This is a pic from a previous tournament but you will see my brothers Jay on the left and Buzz in the back. Buzz's daughter Brianna is standing right in front of him in the sunglasses.

The first game I took my springer Eliot. We sat chatting with Mom while our girls whooped up on the other team 25-7. Then since Eliot was kind of a stinker (fidgeting the whole time!) and I had 3 hours til the next game, I went and had lunch and switched dogs. Luke, my red merle aussie went to the next game. He was very happy to see grandma since he doesn't see her that often. Unfortunately my niece's team was the whoop-ee's instead of the whoop-ers this time. We lost 26-1. (ouch!) All in all, a nice afternoon with my canine kids and my mom sitting in the sun and just enjoying life.
Here we have the team with this weekends 3rd place trophy! Jay's daughter Rylee is the brunette holding the trophy and Brianna is in the back row 2nd from left.

Here are Rylee, Brianna and their friend Melina in the middle.

The weigh in this week is not pretty. And also not unexpected. I'm trying to get myself together....it's just kind of a back and forth thing right now that I can't really wrap my head around. I'll get it eventually I know.

Start: 265.2
Week 3: 263.6
this week: 267.4

I love this sunshine and hope it is here to stay for a while!

they sure look happy. Kids playing sports is so cool & way better than staying home playing video games or watching t.v.. Someone is doing something right with them

Glad you had a nice day

LOVED the pictures and it sounds like you had a great day, yesterday. I somehow missed your blog on the books. I'll have to go back and read that one. I love to read, too!

My husband bought me "A Night to Remember" which was originally written in 1955 and has gone through 15 printings. It's based on survivor interviews of the Titanic disaster. I had just gone with Tom's sister to see the Titanic Artifact Exhibit in late April, so this was a very meaningful gift :)

Arrrggghhhh...the weight thing is maddening, isn't it? I'm personally weary of it all right now. Nothing I do makes a difference. And it seems that if I have a GOOD DAY and open my big mouth, I tank! lol

By the looks of those pictures you had a beautiful day to be at the ball park. The blue sky, the green grass & their white shirts look great. Plus, those girls are super cute!
How funny their games turned out so differently. But congrats to them on a 3rd place
    emoticon Very nice!
