The Best Mother's Day Ever

Sunday, May 13, 2012

emoticon I would have to say this was the best Mother's Day weekend ever. My Mother's Day began on Friday. I took mom and my daughter-in-law and treated them to a Spoiled Brat pedicure. We had a great time. Mom and I then went and picked out flowers for the new flower bed we were putting in for her on Saturday and then we made potato salad for Saturday's barbecue. Saturday was spent with my brothers, their wives, my sister and her husband, and any of the grandsons who could come help to get her yard in shape. After the work was done we had a family barbecue. What a great time we had working and laughing together again. It brought back great memories. My mom's yard looks fabulous by the way.
I had the biggest surprise waiting for me when I got home. My youngest son cleaned up my kitchen, mopped the floor in my kitchen and entry way and vacuumed the downstairs for me. I was dreading coming home from moms knowing I had that all to look forward to. I thought my husband had done it. When my husband told me who was responsible I wanted to cry. I was so touched by this gift. This is the son who never shows me how he feels so this meant a lot to me. My other son cooked me a great breakfast. I had white chocolate, pecan bread French Toast. It was fabulous! The gifts, the deeds, the time spent with my family made this a special Mother's Day.

emoticon what a lovely day together with your family... and sweet sons! Boys can be so understated in their words... showing more by doing... ever so often they let the teddy bear inside show through, i love moments like that!
