Good Visit with Doc and such

It was a bit of an up and down week overall. One of those that seems like you have too much to do not enough time to do it in or just a few days of pleasant steadiness. I do so well staying busy but not so well being overwhelmed.

My truly good news of the week was that my doctor was very happy with my knee progress and I am finally approved for the next stage. Yes that means I can start jogging on the treadmill again. I will find out more when I see the PT on Tuesday since she is the one with the real time line information now that he has cleared me. So a little over 11 weeks post surgery and I have managed to stay within the realms of what has been approved. Still quite a bit further to go but like everything else in life it is a true learning experience. But at this rate doc is thinking by the 6 month mark I can start thinking about sports again.

I had a really good week at the gym and a few good workouts at home. I feel so much stronger already. Lifting more. Did start to increase ROM with squats and lunges after visiting with the doctor. Starting to see some decent arm definition.

I had a poor week of eating. A few fast food dinners but more about not getting lunches in or remember to bring snacks to work. A five hour shift of massaging, which many know is really a little longer than that when you get into set up and clean up. So ended up having one day where I had a lighter lunch just before 2:30 and didn't eat dinner til nearly 10 pm.

I was good and listened to my body yesterday and took the day off from exercising since I woke up feeling my legs and tush and knowing that Saturday was going to be a crazy one. And the fact that I didn't truly get a full night sleep. It was my longest day back at work since my knee injury. Surprisingly handled it well, but did come home and I don't think I made it to 9pm. Going to be another busy day at work but it will be a shorter one.

I have some general goals for the week but one thing I do know is that I want to hit the farmers market for some fresh fruits and veggies to make easier fresh snacks to grab. We have a really good one in the area I do wish it was just a little closer though. I am going to give my body another recoup day from strength training and just get about 30-45 minute either walk or on the exercise bike today. And need to work on getting more specific with my nutrition goals so I don't find myself sliding back into old habits.

And this time next week the pool will be open. Watch out world my pale tush needs some vitamin D!
