I LOST 1 LB. - JUST TODAY !!

Hello everybody, Thanks for stopping by my blog.
What a great day of fitness today !!!! I started this morning at the gym. I put in 55 minutes and burned 600 calories. Next, I went down to the park with my new street hockey stick and shot around the ball for an hour. Got lots of jogging in while playing and worked up a good sweat. I had to guess the calories to be around 200. Then, tonight I dug my old roller-blades out of the garage and we went to the adults only night at the roller rink. I had now idea how many calories a 330 Lb. guy could burn by roller skating. The skate night was 3 hours long and I took many rest. I know that I skated for at least on hour of that. When I came home and found rollerblading in the fitness tracker, it was a whopping 987 calories burned per hour !!!!!! I guess I shouldn't have been that surprised as I was drenched in sweat. Even more so than some of my gym workouts.
So at the end of some days, I like to go to "reports" and see my calorie in/out for the day. Today was the first day I have seen it above 2200. My calorie differential for the day was
3,587 !!!!! 3500 calories is a pound, so I lost a pound in just 1 day !!!! That's great in my book.
This does come with consequences !! I got a real good blister on the back of my foot, right above my heal ( OUCH ) and I am guessing that my lower back will be a little sore in the morning from the street hockey and the skating. Tomorrow may just be an off day of rest. I think I earned it today !!!!
I cheated the other day, but in a good way !! I could not resist the scale in the hospital the other day. I was visiting somebody and had to leave the room while he changed. So instead of waiting for my monthly weigh-in on June 1st, I jumped on the scale to see that I have lost 2 pound in the last week !!! I will wait for my June 1st weigh in to have a monthly total and enter it into my weight tracker. Seems like I'm off to a good start this month. We really had a blast at the roller skating rink so I think we will be doing a lot more of it. At almost 1,000 calories an hour, I am thinking about going 2 or 3 times a week. I will start with once a week, until I get better & stronger at it. Then when my body can handle it, I will go more often.
I am so happy to have gone skating tonight !!! I knew that I needed to find some fun activities / workouts , outside of the gym. I want to have a few things that I can do for exercise, that is not in the gym. I think we all need to mix things up and find activities that are not just a workout, but also FUN !!
