Not much of a loser :(

Thursday, May 10, 2012

Well I only lost 100g in the past week according to the scales at JC. To be honest I'm disappointed as I only had one meal where I didn't follow the plan, I exercised really well, and even didn't drink that much wine!

I think maybe with my stress levels being so high at the moment, my cortisol must be bumped up and is not letting me lose weight!? Or maybe my random/elusive period is coming?

I'm not giving up, but am tired of stress or my weirdo menstrual cycle getting in the way of me losing weight. It's just been a stink week, and thIs makes it even stinker!

Oh well, let's see what we can achieve this next week huh?

This is why it's better to stay off the scale, not stress/worry about whether you have gained or lost, which puts stress on your system and makes sure you don't lose. I eat whatever I want, don't diet, eat mostly healthy, but if I eat something that might be fast food, or eat out, I don't worry about how it will affect my progress. All I do is eat well about 95% of the time, eat often in a day (every 2-3 hours, keeps your metabolism running high), make sure there's protein in every meal because your body has a hard time digesting protein which means your body works harder to break it down, burning more calories....make sure my daily calorie intake is high enough to balance all the working out I do (a lot of people drop their caloric intake in an effort to lose weight, but that just doesn't help)....and do my workouts. And I lost 8lbs in four days once I finally got my calories up to where they needed to be, and only worked out 20 mins once this week.

Message? Stop stressing about your weight. Weekly weigh-ins, or however often they do them at programs like Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig, are not good for you.

I don't know why you're beating up on yourself... you lost 100g!!! You didn't put it on girlfriend, you LOST it. So well done!

2 weeks now on my new lifestyle strategy and busting my balls and getting nowhere... no 100g for me yet. Swap you places?

Oh...it's so difficult when your best efforts don't give you the desired results, isn't it? I know what you're going through and how you're feeling. But, just remember there are a lot of great things happening inside you that you can't see! At least, that's what I keep telling myself!

Here's to next weigh in! emoticon
