Eating Better

I finally seem to be getting on track with eating better, at least a lot of the time. This week I'm actually taking lunches to work, which results in healthier lunches than I generally buy on campus. I made a nice cold salad dish with organic garbanzo beans, tuna, organic red pepper and organic celery, mixed with some Greek salad dressing and a splash of Dijon mustard. I have a bit of the salad left for tomorrow, but after 2 days I'm getting tired of it, so to change things up a bit I bought some Weight Watchers whole wheat pitas, and for tomorrow I'll stuff a pita with the left-over mix along with some spinach and extra veggies.

For dinner, I cooked some steak last night, and have left-overs for tonight. I found it really filling and satisfying. One of our grocery stores in Canada (the Real Canadian Superstore) carries a brand of meat called "Free From". While not fully organic, it is free from antibiotics, which is why I make a special trip to that store to buy this brand. The packaging shows the name and a picture of the farm family that produces the product you are buying, which I also like, as it provides knowledge of where the meat is coming from.

So I'm feeling good that I'm finally making some changes in my eating habits, all for the good.
