I have loved soda pop most of my life. The mere whispering sound of opening a soda up was music to my ears. Now, I have not had a soda in over a month. I began to cut back mid March after reading an article by Vincent Pedre that made perfect sense:
I checked his web site out and I just liked him. I did a bit more research and read some articles here on Sparkpeople.com also.
I am not sure what came over me, there I was giving diet soda up. I am encouraging others to join me and a few have.
Diet soda has always been my constant companion because of the zero calorie bargain with flavor and hydration. Many diet soda proponents feel comfortable drinking diet soda because it lacks the high sugar regular soda has. Consider the adverse side effects including
1. Kidney Damage
2. Weight Gain has been attributed to diet soda in several ways. One theory is that the sweet taste of diet pop alerts our digestive system that high-calorie foods are coming. When they don't, our bodies are confused and our appetite increases in anticipation of the food it's expecting.
3. Tooth Enamel Damage
4. Bone Loss is my primary reason for making this change.
Perhaps giving diet soda up is the right step for you. I am very please with my decision so far. I want to feel better, age better and strive for health in every way I can.
Ask yourself what means more to you a soft drink or strong bones! Who knew I would make this change, not me. But baby it feels good!
