BUC-EES, Cult of the Beaver

BUC-EES, a chain of gas stations that has mushroomed here in Texas, just opened their newest store in my hometown today.... It has something like 65 gas pumps, the biggest gas station in the country (and gas today was selling for 3.529 per gallon), and we are positioned on Interstate 35, one of the busiest highways in the country. not to mention that my hometown is a tourist Mecca because of Schlitterbahn, "The Hottest, Coolest Time in Texas", and the two rivers which have historically attracted travellers for a couple hundred years, so there will be people just passing through, As well as people who are planning to stay and play a while..
The thing about BUC-EES is that it's SO FUN to shop in... roughly the size of a small Target store(the place is enormous!), it has a reputation for selling good snacks (like jerky..... and fudge) and also for its immaculately clean bathrooms... and I checked them out.... I never thought I'd be saying that this was the Taj Mahal of Interstate Highway bathrooms, but they were really NICE.... !!!
The founder of BUC-EES was called "beaver" when he was a kid, and so he has adopted the cartoon image of this beaver as his icon for BUC-EES, and sells all kinds of beaver memorabilia in the store... they are practically irresistible...
Here's the iconic image:
Besides the expected stuffed beavers, his image is on tee shirts in all kinds of designs
I expect this place to be hopping all year round...
