How do you all find balance on the weekends?
I'm not going out partying and whatnot haha, but its kinda hard to keep on track when i'm not at home. If I am around my own house its a little easier. But like this weekend I went back to my home town for a grad party and spent the weekend with my parents. So i got off my exercise schedule and way off the diet.
How do you do it?
Or better yet... How to do recover?

I still track everything. At least in a notepad or something that I can then track later. Even if you lack the ability to control *what* is available to eat, you can control how much!

If I am invited for dinner at a friend's house or something, I plunk my notebook right on the table. Rude? Perhaps. Effective? Absolutely! It sends a subconscious message "Thank you for what you've made/offered, I'm going to take this portion, and please don't offer seconds!"

    Works. Every time.

Also, this past weekend has been a little on the food-indulgent side for my liking (all social occasions), but I plan ahead, track it, and be accountable! That's all you can do! Don't beat yourself up for one day of "bad" choices.

the trickiest part for me is not even the exercise...I mean, a lot of people use weekends as rest days or what not, but the food.

I've noticed that carrying around my water bottle keeps me in check. I know that may sound silly, but I have my water bottle drinking water to remind me not to self sabbatoge my progress with Ruffles, dips, etc. (Ruffles are my weakness at parties and get togethers...)

One thing I do when I go back to my hometown, is go for a walk. You can involve your family or friends too! While it's not super intense cardio, it's something, which is better than nothing. And it doesn't have to be a super long walk either.
There are other little things you can do too. Like if standing around talking, do some calf raises. Or, every time you use the restroom, do like 10 or 20 close arm wall push-ups. Just sneak things in little by little.

I've found that food can be a little more tricky. I mean, if you're going out to eat, then you can decide what you will eat. However, if you are a guest somewhere, you kind of have to go with what they're cooking. I always hope for at least one healthy side, and then load up on that and less of the other stuff that might not be so good. And of course, always stay up on your water consumption!!!

Hope you have a great week!!

It's okay to have treats sometimes. Just try not to let a treat derail the entire day. Meals can be healthy even after a treat.

That being said, I had a pretty food-filled weekend myself! So come Monday morning, I just hit the gym and eat the way I always do and try not to feel guilty. It's food. It's not like...........killing kittens or something. Nothing to feel GUILT over.
